We then created a kinetic logo based on the shoe's patterned sole, and a bold, simple design stlye to use across the interactive zeotrope. Design — Art direction &amp; Design: Simon Arnoldi Illustration: Rachel Antonio Farmfest is a Somerset based music festival with super down to earth easiness and a happy-go-lucky crowd of all ages, with an eclectic line-up to boot. From it's inception, Farmfest had been playing off it's simplistic name and locality (see Farmfest 2011-13).&nbsp;In 2016, we moved the identity away from farm based fun, to a move stylish take on West Country wildlife. Indigenous birds took centre stage as we concentrated on the feeling of freedom they evoke – inline with the festival's atmosphere. The design was influenced by the screen printing process, printed using just 2 colours + black. Along with the creative elements, over the course of 12 years, I've also taken on the leadership of the music programming and marketing/promotions. By 2016, the festival had developed into a confident and nationally known music &amp; arts festival and had started to out grow the brand. After some strategy work (with Dan Fowler), the festival concentrated on it's atmosphere of playful freedom and inclusive fun. The logo and artwork focused around a pop art imagination of the festival name, simplifying the brand to 'FARM', as it is affectionately known by our regulars. Using a bold brand identifier that had no rules of use, allowed freedom of expression throughout the year across the many executions needed to promote the festival. Tasked with re-designing issues 7, and continuing until issue 10, we approached each contribution with respect, presenting the images in full with pace and space to breath. The editorial and typography becoming part of a smart, stripped back ‘invisible’ framework. With breakout typographic ‘sculptures’ on each title page.
